Joint dimensions 20 mm (0.787 in) × 50 mm (1.97 in) PREPARATION OF THE SUPPORT The surface must be clean and dry, homogeneous, without traces of oil and grease, dust or friable particles. Paint, cement milk and any other contaminating agent must be removed. The product adheres without primers or activators to most construction materials, such as: wood, concrete, brick, metal or aluminum. For non-conventional substrates, a preliminary adhesion test is recommended. APPLICATION IMPORTANT The product does not adhere to polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE / Teflon), silicone, oil, grease or release agents. IMPORTANT Do not use the product for mechanical or structural fastening purposes. IMPORTANT When used to fix vertical / horizontal building components, they must be supported until the product has developed sufficient strength. IMPORTANT Atmospheric humidity is necessary for the foam to harden. Insufficient humidity can lead to unwanted subsequent expansion of the foam (post-expansion). Pre-moisten the substrate with clean water. This ensures the proper polymerization of the foam and also prevents its unwanted expansion. Shake the tube well at least 20 times before use. Note: Repeat the shaking operation after long breaks in use. Remove the tube cap. Screw the container onto the thread of the application gun. IMPORTANT To ensure adequate flow, hold the tube upside down during use. Dose the foam by pulling the trigger. Note: The amount of extruded foam can be adjusted by applying more or less pressure to the trigger or by using the flow adjustment screw on the applicator gun. IMPORTANT Allow each coat to expand and harden sufficiently before rewetting with water for the next coat. Fill the deep joints in several layers. Note: Fill voids/cavities only partially as foam expands during curing. Note: Small voids can be filled with an extension tube, but this will reduce foam flow. IMPORTANT Before removing the container from the applicator gun, use up all material remaining in the tube. IMPORTANT Clean the application gun with Sika Boom® Cleaner immediately after use. Removing the tube without thorough cleaning with Sika Boom® Cleaner may damage the application gun. CLEANING OF TOOLS Clean all tools and application equipment immediately after work with Sika Boom® Cleaner or Sika® Remover-208. Clean the gun with SikaBoom® Cleaner immediately after removing the foam tube, but do not leave the cleaner tube attached as it may damage the gun valve. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically. |
