STEINEL
STEINEL is a German manufacturer of electrical equipment founded in 1959. Since launching its first proprietary product in 1967, the company has developed innovative, high-quality solutions and has become a global leader in sensor lighting technology. STEINEL operates production facilities in Germany, Switzerland, Romania, and Moldova, all following the same strict quality standards. Its products are distributed in over 70 countries worldwide. The company is known as the inventor of the motion-sensor lamp and a pioneer of high-frequency (HF) motion detection technology, being the first to integrate HF sensors directly into lighting fixtures. Today, STEINEL’s smart solutions are widely used by architects, electricians, and consultants around the world. In 1992, STEINEL Trading SRL was established in Brașov, Romania, and in 1997 the company started production in Romania.

General Description & Application The first digitally adjustable infrared sensor for outdoor use.
![]() Significant improvement in detection quality.Technology makes the difference. The STEINEL MD IR D180 COM1 finally puts an end to the laborious process of delimiting detection areas and takes infrared sensor technology to another level, being adjustable by 180 degrees. By combining 5 pyro sensors and mirror technology, we have managed to bring radial detection closer to tangential detection. The sensor detects movement within a radius of up to 9 meters, the direction of travel being irrelevant for the detection quality. Compared to conventional motion sensors, the MD IR D180 offers significantly better detection. ![]() Enable and disable detection zones and adjust sensor sensitivity. The nine detection zones and sensor sensitivity can be easily adjusted digitally. Regardless of the direction of travel, the 180-degree sensor detects tangential movements up to 9 meters and radial movements up to 6 meters. The sensor can also be used to detect other types of movements. Configuration, operation and networking are carried out via the STEINEL Connect app and Bluetooth. ![]() Install, set up and network digitally. The process of delimiting detection zones was much more complicated in the past. Today, with the MD IR D180, it is much faster and easier to delimit zones using the STEINEL Connect app and Bluetooth technology. The sensor sensitivity can also be set digitally for each of the nine zones. Limiting with caps or adjusting with a potentiometer are a thing of the past. |
