ADMIXTURE FOR CONCRETE CONTAINING AGGREGATES WITH IMPURITIES

Sika® Stabilizer-500 VCC is a unique concrete admixture, specially formulated to improve the plastic and hardened properties of concrete containing fine aggregates with Variable Contaminant Content. Sika® Stabilizer-500 VCC can reduce the impact of deleterious substances found in both natural and manufactured sands. Sika® Stabilizer-500 VCC can help control water demands and lower cement contents whilst reducing variation in plastic properties.

Usage
  • Sika® Stabilizer-500 VCC is suitable for the production of both ready mixed and precast concrete including but not limited to:
  • Conventional concrete
  • Pumpable concrete
  • High Performance concrete
  • Self Compacting Concrete (SCC)
  • Slip-Form concrete
  • Production of concrete using sands containing contaminants such as clays and other ultra-fine particles.
  • Applications that require high quality concrete
  • Suitable for use across a broad range of consistence classes from S2 to SF2

Specific Advice

Batching procedure is critical to gain the most benefit from Sika® Stabilizer-500 VCC. It must be incorporated early in the mixing process and allowed to adsorb onto the clay/fine particles before the addition of any subsequent admixtures. Addition of the conventional admixture at the same time as the Sika® Stabilizer-500 VCC will lead to reduced benefits.
Application Information
Dispensing

Sika® Stabilizer-500 VCC should be dispensed through suitable calibrated dosing equipment.
Compatibility

Sika® Stabilizer-500 VCC is compatible with other Sika admixtures and all common cement types.  For specific compatibility advice, please contact our Technical Services department.
