EQUIPMENT

MIXING EQUIPMENT

  • Electric mixer with two paddles (> 700 W, 300 rpm to 400 rpm)
SUPPORT QUALITY

The surface must be clean, dry and free from contaminants such as dirt, oils, grease, coatings and surface treatments. All dust, loose and friable materials must be completely removed from the entire surface using a vacuum cleaner. The tensile strength must not be less than 1.5 N/mm 2 (218 psi) . If in doubt, it is recommended to apply to a test surface first.

shuffle
  1. Mix Component A (resin) for ~30 seconds.
  2. Add Component B (hardener) to Component A.
  3. IMPORTANT Do not overmix! Then pour component A over component B and mix continuously for ~3 minutes, until a uniformly colored mixture is obtained.
  4. Gradually add either Sikafloor® Antislip Agent or glass beads to the mixture. Note. See Aggregate Addition Chart for amount to add.
  5. IMPORTANT Do not over mix. Blend for another 2 minutes until smooth.
  6. To ensure thorough mixing, pour the materials into another container and mix again to obtain a smooth and even mixture.
  7. During the final mixing step, scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing container at least once with a flat or straight-edged trowel to ensure thorough mixing

ADDING AGGREGATES

Add the following amount of aggregates to the mixed product A + B.

Aggregates added
Glass microspheres (90-150 µm or 200-300 µm)3% - 10% by weight
Sikafloor® Antislip Agent2% - 4% by weight
APPLICATION

IMPORTANT

Follow the installation procedures strictly

Strictly follow the installation procedures defined in the method statements, application manuals and work instructions, which must always be adapted to the actual site conditions.

IMPORTANT

Protect from moisture

Protect from moisture! After application, protect the product from moisture, condensation and direct contact with water for at least 7 hours.

IMPORTANT

Damaged finishes due to heating with fossil fuel heaters

Fossil fuel heaters powered by gas, oil or paraffin produce large amounts of carbon dioxide and water vapor, which can adversely affect the finish.

  1. For temporary heating, use only electrically operated warm air blowing systems. Do not use gas, oil, paraffin or other fossil fuel heating systems.

IMPORTANT

Insufficient coverage due to uneven or dirty substrates

Uneven or dirty substrates cannot be covered with thin sealing layers.

  1. Thoroughly clean the substrate and adjacent areas before application.

SEALING LAYER

  1. Wet the stencil in the container, then remove the excess material on the drain grid. Consumption is specified in the Application Information section.
  2. Apply the product evenly to the surface using a microfiber pad with a fiber length of approx. 10 mm (0.394 in).
  3. Roll the surface in two perpendicular directions (cross application) with the microfibre stencil. Note: Maintain a "wet edge" during application to ensure an even finish with no visible streaks or seams.

APPLICATION IN MULTIPLE LAYERS

The product is usually applied as a single top coat. When multiple coats are required, the surface must be prepared before the next coat is applied.

  1. Prepare the surface by abrasion using abrasive hand tools or mechanical equipment.
  2. Remove dust with industrial vacuum equipment.
  3. IMPORTANT The prepared surface must be free of gloss and have a uniform matte appearance. Wipe the surface with solvent to remove all traces of dust and allow the solvent to evaporate.
CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with solvent immediately after use. Once hardened, the material can only be removed mechanically.
