ApplicationAmbient air temperature +5 °C (+41 °F) min. / +35 °C (+95 °F) max. The relative humidity of the air 100% max. Support temperature +5 °C (+41 °F) min. / +35°C (+95 °F) max. Moisture content in the substrate Can be applied to fresh concrete without surface water. Waiting Time / Recoating When 2 coats are required, to achieve maximum densification, the second coat can be applied 2-4 hours after applying the first coat.
Waiting times are approximate and will be affected by changes in ambient conditions, especially temperature and relative humidity. Drying time The surface is dry to the touch after 2 hours at a temperature of +20 °C (+68 °F). The maximum sealing and hardening effect is achieved after ~7 days at a temperature of +20 °C (+68 °F). The applied product is usable after
Note: Times are approximate and will be affected by changes in ambient parameters and substrate. Consumption 0.15–0.25 l/m 2 /layer (4–7 m 2 /l/layer). These values are theoretical and do not take into account additional consumption due to surface porosity, surface profile, unevenness or losses, etc. Yield 4–7 m 2 /l/layer SUPPORT QUALITY Fresh concrete The surface must be free of standing water and have sufficient strength to support the finishing processes. Cured / Old Concrete Surfaces must be sound, open textured, clean, free of ice, cement laitance, standing water, oils, grease, coatings, loosely adhering particles and other surface contaminants. If in doubt, apply to a test surface first. For optimal results, in the case of concrete floors, Sikafloor® CureHard-24 is applied 7-14 days after pouring or after sufficient hydration of the concrete. PREPARATION OF THE SUPPORT Fresh concrete The concrete must be prepared by appropriate finishing/compaction techniques, either manually or mechanized. Hardened / old concrete The substrate must be prepared by suitable cleaning methods such as high pressure water washing or using cleaning machines. Before applying the product, all dust, dirt, loose and friable material must be completely removed from all surfaces, preferably with a broom and/or vacuum cleaner. APPLICATION Fresh concrete As soon as the surface is firm to tread on, apply the material in a continuous coat using a high volume, low drag spray unit, using a quantity sufficient to keep the surface wet for at least 30 minutes. After about 30-45 minutes, your material will start to gel and become slippery. Lightly dampen the material with a water sprayer to reduce slippage and then work the surface with a soft-bristled broom or floor scrubber for 10 to 20 minutes. After about 20 minutes, the material will gel. Rinse the floor and remove any excess material using a squeegee, mop or wet-dry vacuum. Hardened / old concrete Apply the material in a continuous coat using a high volume, low drag spray unit. To ensure maximum penetration, brush the treated surface with a soft-bristled broom or floor scrubber. Lightly moisten the material with a water sprayer and process the surface again for 10 to 20 minutes. After this process, rinse the floor and remove any excess material using a squeegee, mop or wet-dry vacuum cleaner. On porous, rough or brushed surfaces, a second coat may be required. For large surfaces and high consumption, the application, brushing and removal of excess material will be mechanized with the help of industrial cleaning machines. Due to subsequent chemical reactions, water tightness will gradually increase, while the maximum sealing and hardening effect is reached after 7 days. Depending on the frequency of cleaning, the intensity of the surface gloss gradually increases during the first 90 days. The product can also be used in combination with Sikafloor® - CureHard GL. CLEANING OF TOOLS Clean all tools and application equipment with Thinner C immediately after use. The already hardened material can only be removed mechanically. |
