PREPARATION OF THE SUPPORT

The surface must be clean and dry, homogeneous, without traces of oil and grease, dust or friable particles. Paint, cement milk and any other contaminating agent must be removed. The product adheres without primers or activators to most construction materials, such as: wood, concrete, brick, metal or aluminum. For non-conventional substrates, a preliminary adhesion test is recommended.

APPLICATION

IMPORTANT

The product does not adhere to polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE / Teflon), silicone, oil, grease or release agents.

IMPORTANT

Do not use the product for mechanical or structural fastening purposes.

IMPORTANT

When used to bond vertical / horizontal building components, they must be supported until the product has developed sufficient strength.

IMPORTANT

Moisture is necessary to harden the foam. Insufficient humidity can lead to subsequent and unwanted expansion of the foam (post-expansion).

  1. IMPORTANT If the ambient and/or substrate temperature is below 0 °C (32 °F), start application immediately after pre-wetting (to prevent water from freezing). Pre-wet the substrate with clean water. This ensures proper foam curing and also prevents unwanted foam expansion.
  2. Shake the container well at least 20 times before use. Note: Repeat shaking after long breaks in use.
  3. Remove the lid of the container.
  4. Screw the container onto the thread of the application gun.
  5. IMPORTANT To ensure adequate flow, hold the container upside down during application. Dispense the foam by pulling the trigger. Note: The amount of extruded foam can be adjusted by applying more or less pressure to the trigger or by using the flow adjustment screw on the applicator gun.
  6. IMPORTANT Allow each layer to expand and harden sufficiently before re-wetting with water to apply the next layer. Fill deep areas in several layers. Note: Only partially fill voids/cavities as the foam expands during curing. Note: Small voids can be filled with an extension tube, but this will reduce foam flow.

IMPORTANT

Before removing the container from the application gun, dispose of the material remaining in the container into a container for safe collection.

IMPORTANT

Clean the application gun with Sika Boom® Cleaner immediately after use. Removing the tube without thorough cleaning with Sika Boom® Cleaner may damage the application gun.

CLEANING OF TOOLS
  1. Clean the application gun by screwing Sika Boom® Cleaner onto the thread of the application gun.
  2. IMPORTANT Do not leave Sika Boom® Cleaner screwed onto the application gun as the valve may be damaged. Pull the trigger to remove it.

Clean any other application tools or equipment with Sika Boom® Cleaner or Sika® Remover-208 immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
