Sika® Ceram-205 is a one-component, flexible adhesive with a high content of polymers, high strength cements, selected quartz sands and specific additives.

Use

Sika® Ceram-205 is used for gluing ceramic tiles by the thin bed method, in a thickness of up to 10 mm (0.394 in), to the inside or outside of construction elements, on vertical or horizontal surfaces.

Sika® Ceram-205 is suitable for bonding the following types of tiles:

  • ceramic tiles with any degree of absorption, (including vitrified tiles)
  • natural stone (except translucent) or composite tiles
  • heat-insulating polystyrene boards, basalt mineral wool, organic fiber boards or polyurethane

Sika® Ceram-205 is suitable for bonding to a range of substrates including:

  • concrete, after at least 3 months from casting
  • cement-based plasters or screeds, after 2 and 3 weeks respectively after application (maximum humidity 3%)
  • plaster or anhydrite, primed in advance, after a minimum of 4 weeks after application (maximum humidity 0.5%)
  • plasterboard boards, correctly fixed and stiffened
  • previous ceramic tiles, with good adhesion to the support, properly cleaned and degreased
  • painted surfaces, inside
  • heated floors (systems with water as a heating agent)

Sika® Ceram-205 can be used for the following applications:

  • Interior walls and floors (bathrooms, kitchens, etc.)
  • Exterior walls and floors (plinths, terraces, balconies)
  • Public spaces, subject to intense traffic
