The essential quality criteria for outdoor ceramic installations are tiles with low water absorption and strong adhesion of the adhesive to the support. SikaHome® TileBond Flexible is a high-performance cement-based adhesive with no vertical flow and extended open time. SikaHome® TileBond Flexible takes over the contractions and expansions of the support determined by temperature differences and provides strong bonding so as to ensure the stability and durability of the tiling.

Use

For gluing ceramic tiles in a thin bed (up to 10mm (0.394 in)) inside and outside buildings, on all traditional supports used in construction, on vertical or horizontal surfaces.

SikaHome®TileBond Flexible is suitable for bonding the following types of tiles:

  • ceramic, porcelain, glass mosaic, clinker, etc., with dimensions between 5x5cm (1.97 in) and 40x40cm (15.7 in)
  • natural stone (not susceptible to staining), with dimensions up to 40x40cm (15.7 in), apparent brick, heat-insulating polystyrene boards or basalt mineral wool

SikaHome®TileBond Flexible is suitable for bonding to a range of substrates including:

  • concrete, after at least 3 months from casting
  • cement-based plasters or screeds, after 2 and 3 weeks respectively after application (maximum humidity 3%)
  • plaster or anhydrite, primed in advance, after a minimum of 4 weeks after application (maximum humidity 0.5%)
  • plasterboard boards, correctly fixed and stiffened
  • previous ceramic tiles, with good adhesion to the support, properly cleaned and degreased
  • painted surfaces, inside
  • heated floors
Advantages
  • Strong adhesion for stability and durability in operation
  • Flexibility, for taking over and compensating the dimensional variations of the support
