Read moreCement-based crystallization waterproofing mortar Sika MonoTop®-160 Migrating is a one-component, cement-based waterproofing mortar with carefully selected aggregates and active chemicals. The active components migrate inside the concrete pore and capillary network and react with the existing moisture and free lime to form an insoluble crystalline structure in the pore and capillary network. The waterproofing mortar can be troweled or mechanized by sprayer and provides an impermeable layer to prevent water ingress to a wide range of concrete structure types. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

ApplicationMixture ratio ~9.2 liters of clean water for 25 kg (55.1 lb) of powder Density of fresh mortar ~ 1.9 kg/l (~ 15.9 lb/gal) Layer thickness ~ 1.0mm (~ 0.0394 in) Ambient air temperature +10 °C (+50 °F) min / +35 °C (+95 °F) max Support temperature +10 °C (+50 °F) min / +35 °C (+95 °F) max Lifetime of the mixture 20–25 minutes at +20°C (+68 °F) Waiting Time / Recoating Apply the second layer over the fresh, uncured first layer (wet-on-wet application, approx. after 1–2 hours at 20°C (68 °F)) Consumption ~1.2 kg/m 2 per layer. This consumption is an estimate and does not include any materials needed to reduce the porosity of the surface, to reprofile the surface or the losses resulting from the execution of the works, etc. EQUIPMENT Preparing the support

Strengthening
shuffle Pour the minimum recommended amount of clean water into a suitable mixing container. While mixing slowly, add the powder continuously to the water. After obtaining a consistent mixture, continue mixing for 3 minutes. The consistency of the mortar must be checked after each mixing. APPLICATION After proper preparation of the substrate, saturate with clean water to obtain a moist (but not wet) surface. Before applying the mortar, remove excess water with a clean sponge. General Conditions Sika MonoTop®-160 Migrating must be applied to the entire surface in the appropriate thickness. Manual Application Apply the mixed mortar on the pre-moistened support layer, previously properly prepared mechanically or by hydroblasting and reprofiled with suitable materials so as not to present defects. The second coat must be applied "wet-on-wet" after the first coat has hardened slightly to allow complete coverage of the surface and to avoid the appearance of "needle-pricks". Mechanized application - wet shotcrete The mixture of Sika MonoTop®-160 Migrating will be introduced into the shotcrete equipment and applied to the pre-moistened, properly prepared substrate. The second coat must be applied "wet-on-wet" after the first coat hardens slightly to allow full coverage of the surface and to avoid the appearance of "needle-pricks". STRENGTHENING TREATMENT Protect freshly applied mortar from premature drying using an appropriate method during curing, e.g. water spray, wet geotextile layer, polyethylene film, etc. These measures are necessary for 5 days after applying the mortar. CLEANING OF TOOLS Clean all application tools and equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed by mechanical means. |
