Beware of condensation. To reduce the risk of condensation or efflorescence on the finished surface, the temperature of the substrate and applied uncured material must be at least +3 °C (+37 °F) higher than the dew point temperature. Low temperatures and high relative humidity increase the probability of surface efflorescence.

TREATMENT OF JOINTS AND CRACKS

IMPORTANT

Incorrect treatment of cracks

Improper assessment and treatment of cracks can result in reduced finish life and crack reflection.

Existing construction joints and static surface cracks require treatment before the system is applied. Use resin-based products from the Sikafloor® and Sikadur® ranges to level and fill them.

The system can be applied to freshly poured or wet concrete without standing water. Wait at least 3 days after pouring the concrete to allow the initial shrinkage to wear out, thus preventing shrinkage cracking on the wearing surface.

The cement base layer (concrete/screed) must be solid and have sufficient compressive strength (minimum 25 N/mm 2 (3626 psi) ) with a pull-out strength of at least 1.5 N/mm 2 (218 psi) .

The substrate must be clean and free of contamination such as: impurities, residues, oil, grease, coatings or previous surface treatments, friable materials, etc.

PROCEDURE FOR MIXING 3 COMPONENTS

  1. Mix Component A (resin) until the pigment is dispersed and a uniform color is obtained.
  2. Add Component B (the hardener) to Component A.
  3. Continuously mix Components A + B for 30 seconds until an even color is obtained.
  4. After 30 seconds gradually add Component C while continuing to mix.
  5. After adding all the components continue to mix for 2 minutes, until a uniform mixture is obtained. Note: At temperatures below +15 °C (+59 °F) the mixing time increases by 30-60 seconds.
  6. To ensure thorough mixing, pour the material into another container and mix again until a homogeneous and uniform mixture is obtained.
  7. To ensure thorough mixing, scrape the sides and bottom of the container at least once during the final mixing step with a straight-edged trowel.

MIXING PROCEDURE 4 COMPONENTS

  1. Mix Component A (resin) for 30 seconds.
  2. Add Component D (pigment) to Component A.
  3. Mix Components A + D for 30 seconds until a uniform color is obtained.
  4. After 30 seconds add Component B and continue mixing for 30 seconds.
  5. After 30 seconds gradually add Component C while continuing to mix.
  6. After adding all the components continue to mix for 2 minutes, until a uniform mixture is obtained. Note: At temperatures below +15 °C (+59 °F) the mixing time increases by 30-60 seconds.
  7. To ensure thorough mixing, pour the material into another container and mix again until a homogeneous and uniform mixture is obtained.
  8. To ensure thorough mixing, scrape the sides and bottom of the container at least once during the final mixing step with a straight-edged trowel.
APPLICATION

IMPORTANT

Protection of the material after application

After application, protect the System from moisture, condensation and direct contact with water for at least 24 hours.

IMPORTANT

Protect material from condensation or leakage

During application, protect the Product from condensation or any leaks from ceiling fixtures.

IMPORTANT

Ventilation of closed spaces

Always ensure good ventilation when applying the product in closed spaces.

IMPORTANT

Applications on mortars based on modified polymer cement

Do not apply to substrates made of polymer-modified cementitious mortars. When sealed with an impermeable resin, they can expand due to moisture, .

IMPORTANT

Waiting time for food products

In food processing areas, always allow a waiting time of at least 48 hours after applying the product before putting the floor into use.

SEALING LAYER FOR AGGREGATE SPREADING SYSTEMS

  1. Pour the mixed Product onto the support. Note: Consumption is indicated in the Application Information chapter.
  2. Spread the Product evenly over the surface using the rubber squeegee.
  3. Uniform by rolling using the short or medium hair roller, in two perpendicular directions, in a cross. Note: To ensure a seamless finish, keep the edge wet during application.
CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with Sika® Thinner C immediately after use. The already hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
