GENERAL PURPOSE, CEMENTITIOUS TILE ADHESIVE.

SikaCeram®105 is a cementitious tile adhesive used for permanent fixing of tiles. Suitable for tropical and hot climatic conditions.

Composition

Cementitious powder, Polymer modified binder.

Shelf life

12 months minimum from production date.

Storage conditions

The product must be stored in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between 5 o C and 35 o C. Protect from direct sunlight.

≥ 0.5 MPa (72.5 psi), according to C1T class

Application
Mixing ratio

20-22 % or 5.0 to 5.5 litres clean water per 25 kg (55.1 lb) bag

Ambient air temperature

Minimum 5ºC, Maximum 30ºC (Substrate).

Pot Life

Approximately 60 minutes at 30°C (86 °F).

Open Time

Approximately 20 minutes at 20°C (68 °F).

MIXING

Add about 5.0 – 5.5 litres clean cold water to a clean suitable mixing container. Slowly add the SikaCeram® 105 powder and mix for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mix free of lumps is achieved. Do not mix more SikaCeram® 105 than can be used within the open time.

Do not add extra water or other ingredients after mixing!

APPLICATION

Apply SikaCeram® 105 at 3 -10 mm (0.118 -0.394 in) thickness directly to the concrete substrate, using a notched trowel and spread the mortar evenly over the area to be tiled. Cover only an area that can be tiled within 15 - 20 minutes. Press tiles firmly into SikaCeram ® 105 with a twisting action to ensure optimum adhesion.

  1. Use 5.0 - 5.5 litres of clean water per 25kg (55.1 lb) bag.
  2. Mix well with a slow speed drill (maximum 500rpm).
  3. Apply with “V”-notched trowels for small tiles.
  4. Apply with square notched trowel for bigger tiles.
  5. Place the tiles firmly into the fresh adhesive.
CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Application and mixing tools should be cleaned with water while material is still fresh. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
