Additive for the production of concrete with reduced permeability

Sika® WT-110 L RO was specially created for the production of waterproof, high-quality concrete. Sika® WT-110 L RO is part of the Sika Watertight Concrete System.

Use

Sika® WT-110 L RO can be used in particular in the following applications:

  • Basements
  • Underground parking
  • TUNNEL
  • Pools
  • Water retention basins
  • DAMS
  • Water treatment basins
  • Underground commercial structures (malls, underground communication/transport ways, etc.)

Validity period

Storage conditions

Store in a dry place, at temperatures between 5-30⁰C (41-86 °F).
Protect from frost, direct sunlight and contamination.
Only clean storage containers will be used for bulk deliveries.
After prolonged storage, the product will homogenize before use.

The concrete recipe

- For waterproof concrete:
The concrete recipe depends on the local regulations and standards in force regarding waterproof concrete systems.
- For Sika®Waterproof Concrete:
Sika® WT-110 L RO has been developed for concretes with a minimum cement content of 350 kg/m 3 (590 lb/yd³) and a maximum A/C ratio of 0.45. Depending on the concrete recipe, the dosage of plasticizer or superplasticizer / strong water reducer will be determined to achieve the required consistency class.
Preliminary tests will be carried out in order to obtain the desired workability and other characteristics of the fresh and hardened concrete in accordance with the regulations in force.

Application
Compatibility

Sika® WT-110 L RO is compatible with all additives from the Sika® ViscoCrete®, Sika ViscoFlow®, SikaPlast®, Sikament® range.

Other information on compatibility with other products can be provided on request.

The Sika® WT-110 L RO additive is compatible with all cementitious materials that meet the requirements of EN 197-1.

Maximum content of additions 40% of the mass of cement (Ash, Silica Fume).

Recommended dosage

The Sika® WT-110 L RO product will be dosed between 1.0 - 2.0% of the cement mass.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Sika® WT-110 L RO is dosed during the main mixing process of the concrete.

It is recommended to avoid dosing the additive over the dry mix.

The mixing time will be adjusted according to the type and power of the mixer.

It is recommended to maintain a mixing time of at least 60 seconds.

To avoid using excess water, it is recommended to make water corrections at 2/3 of the mixing time.

A/C ratio and consistency are the responsibility of the concrete manufacturer. Preliminary tests are recommended.
