Superplasticizer additive with high efficiency for the concrete prefab industry

Sika® ViscoCrete®-20 HE GOLD is a strong water-reducing superplasticizer, used to obtain high initial strengths, specially created for the concrete used to make prefabricated elements.

Use

The superplasticizing additive Sika® ViscoCrete®-20 HE GOLD will be used for the following types of concrete:

  • Precast concrete (reinforced and prestressed elements)
  • Self-compacting concrete
  • Concrete in situ with short installation time
  • Rapid hardening concrete
  • Concrete with high initial strengths
Advantages

Sika® ViscoCrete®-20 HE GOLD is a product developed specifically for the precast concrete industry.   Mixed in the mass of concrete Sika® ViscoCrete®-20 HE GOLD will have the following effects:

  • A better dispersion and hydration of the cement
  • Lower friction forces between cement and aggregates
  • Little water required for preparation

Concretes prepared with Sika® ViscoCrete®-20 HE GOLD will have the following characteristics:

  • High initial resistances and thus reduced stripping times
  • Due to the strong fluidization effect, the water/cement ratio can be reduced, which implies high densities and strengths
  • The workability of the concrete will be improved and placing and compacting will be easier

APPROVALS / CERTIFICATIONS

Sika® ViscoCrete®-20 HE GOLD contains only ingredients according to SR EN 934-1:2008, Tab.1. Sika® ViscoCrete®-20 HE GOLD corresponds to SR EN 934-2+A1:2012, Tables: 1, 3.1, 3.2 (superplasticizer additives / strong water reducers). Applicable in all EU member countries.

Application
Compatibility

The additive Sika® ViscoCrete®-20 HE GOLD is compatible with all cementitious materials that meet the requirements of EN 197-1. The Sika® ViscoCrete®-20 HE GOLD admixture is compatible in the concrete mass with the set accelerators, set retarders, air entrainers, waterproofers and shrinkage reducers from the Sika product range.

Recommended dosage

The Sika® ViscoCrete®-20 HE GOLD product will be dosed between 0.2 - 2.0% of the cement mass.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Sika® ViscoCrete®-20 HE GOLD is dosed in the station, together with the mixing water or towards the end of mixing.

It is recommended to avoid dosing the additive over the dry mix.

The mixing time will be adjusted according to the type and power of the mixer.

It is recommended to maintain a mixing time of at least 45-60 seconds.

To avoid using excess water, it is recommended to make water corrections at 2/3 of the mixing time.
