Water-based epoxy resin primer

Sika® Bonding Primer is a 2-part, water-based multipurpose epoxy resin primer. It consolidates substrates and improves the adhesion for use with Sika Liquid Applied Roofing Membranes and Balcony Waterproofing Systems.

Fast curing increases productivity and saves time
Consolidates dusty or friable substrates providing enhanced adhesion
Reduces the risk of outgassing from susceptible substrates
Overcoating possible after 1–2 hours
Water-based
Good penetrating ability into porous substrates
Reduces the absorbency of the substrate
Easy application
Applied by brush, roller or airless spray

Usage

Multipurpose primer for use with Sika Liquid Applied Roofing Membranes and Balcony Waterproofing Systems The product can be used on the following substrates:

Bitumen sheet membranes
Bituminous coatings
Brick masonry
Cementitious renders
Concrete
Cementitious screeds
Glazed ceramic tiles
Insulation foams
Plaster
Unglazed ceramic tiles

Please note:

The Product may be used for interior and exterior applications.

Beware of condensation.
The substrate and uncured applied coating must be ≥ +3 °C above dew point.

Substrate Moisture Content

The Product can be applied on substrates with a moisture content of ≤ 6 %.

The substrate must be visibly dry with no standing water.

The following test methods can be used to determine the substrate moisture content:

Before applying SikaRoof® MTC, Sikalastic® or Sikafloor® products on Sika® Bonding Primer, allow:
